With over 70% of new construction forecast to involve renovation or expansion of existing structures, the need for an accurate existing conditions BIM model becomes increasingly important for accurate designs. Even more so when designing for LEED certification, as the ability to maintain maximum structure, M/E/P and building infrastructure factors highly in certification.
Using 3D laser scanning, LandTech creates existing conditions BIM models with a high degree of accuracy in order to provide the AEC community with the documentation needed to make critical design decisions. These models can then be updated during construction with as-built documentation so that a complete and accurate as-built model can be supplied upon project completion.
Once construction is completed, the as-built model can be further populated before or after turnover to the project owner to be utilized as a Facilities Management (FM) model.
